SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -Former South Dakota State and Roosevelt standout Tucker Large is rehabbing an injury he sustained at the end of his final season at Washington State and has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, hoping to get a shot to play in the NFL once he is healthy.
Large has always played big despite his stature. And people saying he’s too small has always motivated this true competitor.
Tucker Large says, “It feels great. I feel like my entire life I’ve had that chip on my shoulder just being that under-recruited underdog and just being a smaller competitor. But I’ve never really let that get in the way of my goals or aspirations so I’m just really grateful for the opportunity that I got and to make the most of it. I love just taking the will from the other opponent. I’ve competed my whole life and I’ve got 3 other brothers. So it’s been a competition growing up since I was yay tall. Honestly just competing at the end of the day.”
Tucker tore his ACL at the end of the season for Washington State and is rehabbing. He is hoping when that is done, he’ll get a chance to prove himself as an NFL talent in Philadelphia, like fellow South Dakotans Dallas Goedert and Nate Gerry.
