Mitchell Robinson has been doing individual training ahead of his first training camp with the Boston Celtics. Robinson signed with the Celtics on a three-year, $47.4 million contract in July, and he wants to prove he is worth every cent.
It has been quite the transition for Robinson. He moved to Boston just a few weeks after he won a title with the New York Knicks. He did not want to leave New York, but the team could not afford him anymore due to its financial constraints. The Celtics were happy to take him in.
While the 28-year-old pivot is putting in the work, he is enjoying it as well. On Instagram, he shared a video of himself making back-to-back free throws to take on a fan's challenge.
“Okay, can you get off my 🍆 now? Please and thank you. #TakeThatForData 📈🏀,” wrote Robinson in the caption.

His post quickly attracted various reactions.
“Now, do three,” said @hunterphay.
“This is AI,” added @reflectmebaby.
“LMFAO,” wrote @owdawgin16.
“Aye, Mitch, I'm proud of you, but try not to shoot like that against the Knicks. 🙏🏿,” pleaded @itaddy.
“They got you Shaqtin' up out here,” claimed @koby_steed.
“❤️ you, Big Mitch. Keep shining 🙌,” stated @classcteacher.
Many commented with laughing emojis, including Andre Drummond, who essentially replaced Robinson on the Knicks.
“😂😂😂 Don’t change, bro,” said Drummond.
Robinson and Drummond have become notorious for being terrible at free throws, joining other big men like Wilt Chamberlain, Shaquille O'Neal, Ben Wallace, and DeAndre Jordan, among others.
Last season, Robinson shot a career-worst 40.8% from the charity stripe. He averaged 5.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 19.6 minutes off the bench.
