San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama has been raising the temperature in the 2027 FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers. While he’s taking care of business for the French national team, his teammates found a new way to troll him for his comical shoe size at the camp.
In a recently surfaced video on X, formerly Twitter, Wembanyama’s France teammates Nadir Hifi and Matthew Strazel were seen geeking out at his Nike shoes, size 21.

The two guards were hilariously imitating Wemby’s shooting rhythm while pretending to use the 7’4” center/forward’s footwear as a phone.
However, the latest fun moment comes after an otherwise intense stretch for the Frenchmen. They had back-to-back exhibition games against Nikola Jokic's Serbian team.
While France lost 90-87 the first time they met, they edged out Serbia 91-90 on Sunday.
Wemby had an impressive stat line during his 24 minutes of play on Sunday. The two-time NBA All-Star scored 18 points and recorded five blocks, while also shooting 5-of-11 from the field. As for Serbia, Jokic had a comparatively better performance with 34 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists.
Irrespective of how the two games ended, the two NBA superstars made sure to show respect for each other. Answering a reporter’s question about learning something new from The Joker, the Spurs superstar had the most honest response.
“Of course you always learn when you play against Jokic. You always catch some stuff and smarter moves on the court in those duels with him,” he said.
Similarly, Jokic gave his thoughts on the Spurs phenom becoming one of the best the league has ever seen.
“He has the opportunity to be the most unique basketball player we’ve ever seen. It only depends on him how well he’s gonna fit, how well he’s gonna work hard, how well he’s gonna get to his spots, and treat his body well. He definitely has the opportunity to be the best ever,” he said after their first clash.
