Liverpool fans will be absolutely fuming after Fabrizio Romano’s latest transfer update

**Liverpool are looking to add to their attack between now and the end of the summer transfer window.**

Various sources have covered the Reds’ interest in Bradley Barcola, Ibrahim Mbaye and Yankuba Minteh in detail, so we won’t get into it here.

This one is about Liverpool’s midfield. The Reds already looked short of quality options in the centre of the park when Andoni Iraola arrived and also lost Curtis Jones to Inter Milan earlier this summer.

A fresh face in midfield looked like a foregone conclusion at one point.

But now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Iraola are co are not looking to sign anyone in that position.

Now, this is a tricky one. Before Iraola took over, there was a lot of chatter that midfield would be one of his biggest holes in the squad.

However, since his arrival, he has made it abundantly clear that he is happy with his options.

Romano says the Reds are not looking to bolster their midfield between now and the transfer deadline as the focus on adding to their attack.

“Midfield is NOT a priority for Liverpool, as of today,” wrote the Italian on Threads.

The manager has his own ideas and should be backed. That said, in our opinion, Liverpool’s midfield looks wafer-thin.

We’re just going to have to hope the likes of Dom Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch stay fit throughout and play out of their skins.

Trey Nyoni’s emergence is good news, but it remains to be seen how much game time he gets, although he certainly looked the part in pre-season.
