Lewis Koumas made his Premier League debut for Liverpool in the 2-2 draw at Newcastle United on Sunday and the Wales international has been speaking about his transfer future

Lewis Koumas believes his transfer plans may have shifted following his Premier League debut for Liverpool at the weekend.
Koumas came off the bench in the 78th minute of the clash at Newcastle United, helping the Reds fight back to earn a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon.
It marked the 20-year-old's first outing for Liverpool since netting on his debut in the FA Cup against Southampton in February 2024, having been an unused substitute in the League Cup final victory over Chelsea just days before.
The Wales international subsequently embarked on loan stints at Stoke City, Birmingham City and Hull City in the Championship, during which he accumulated close to 100 appearances.
Koumas caught the eye when deployed on the right wing by new head coach Andoni Iraola throughout pre-season, with Liverpool anticipated to reach a decision closer to next Tuesday's transfer deadline on whether to sanction a further loan move or retain the youngster within the first-team setup, reports the Liverpool Echo.
When asked whether making his Premier League debut had altered his own perspective on his immediate future, the forward said: "Definitely. I think I can help impact games as well in this league.
"It's nice to get my debut, but ultimately I want to go on and score goals and try to impact where we can finish in the league. We'll see what happens.
"I got the call to come on and it was just to add energy, add runs in behind and try to make something happen – and then happily we did that in the end."
Reflecting on his top-flight debut, Koumas added: "This is the peak. It's quite emotional, to be honest. Now that it's finally happened, it just takes me back to the very first moments where it was my mum sacrificing absolutely everything to get me to any session I could be at.
"I remember being at Crewe, being at Tranmere, and my mum was just doing everything.
"So ultimately it's her to thank for being able to put myself out there and now we've reached this stage. It's just a happy family moment and I'm just really happy she could see it."
Fellow substitute Victor Munoz won the dramatic late penalty, which was coolly dispatched in the 99th minute by Dominik Szoboszlai to secure Liverpool a 2-2 draw.

"It's what the big players are there for: we couldn't win the game so we find a way to get a point out of it and the characters have stepped up," Koumas told LFC TV.
"Dom's took the pen and there's absolutely no saving it, it's a clinical moment and it's a good point on the road and we'll move on to next week. A pressure moment under the lights, you wouldn't want anyone else on it."
