Arsenal’s search for a new winger has been complicated by a Kenan Yildiz injury that could sideline the Juventus forward for approximately two months as Gabriel Martinelli moves closer to an exit.
Yildiz suffered a foot problem during Juventus’ 1-0 victory over Frosinone on Sunday and has since undergone medical examinations.
Italian news agency ANSA reports that surgery cannot be ruled out, with the Turkey international potentially facing a lengthy absence.
The development creates another obstacle for Arsenal after Juventus had already resisted interest in Yildiz.

Kenan Yildiz injury complicates Arsenal transfer plans
Yildiz was assessed at Juventus’ medical centre after reporting discomfort in his left foot following the Serie A opener.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that a fracture of the fifth metatarsal is suspected, although further examinations are required before the severity becomes clear.
Should surgery prove necessary, the 21-year-old could miss approximately two months.
Arsenal had previously explored whether a move for Yildiz could be structured before the transfer window closes.
The Independent reported that Mikel Arteta is particularly keen on the Juventus attacker, with the left side of Arsenal’s attack identified as an area for potential improvement.
However, Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti had already dismissed suggestions that the club would consider selling.
Gabriel Martinelli talks increase pressure on Arsenal
Yildiz’s injury comes as negotiations continue over Martinelli’s potential move to Al Hilal.
Arsenal are seeking a sell-on clause as talks progress over a deal worth approximately £50million.
Martinelli has missed Arsenal’s opening competitive fixtures, while summer signing Christos Tzolis has impressed against Manchester City and Coventry.
However, losing Martinelli without adding another attacking option would reduce Arteta’s depth across a campaign involving the Premier League and Champions League.
Arsenal also face a separate decision over Gabriel Jesus, with the club unwilling to sanction his departure without identifying a suitable replacement.
Yildiz’s medical situation now makes an already difficult deal even less straightforward.
