Liverpool is open to sanctioning the sale of Cody Gakpo this summer, according to reports, but only if the club signs at least two forwards in the remaining days of the transfer window.

The forward has faced an uncertain future throughout the market so far, with Tottenham showing interest in landing the 27-year-old to bolster its attacking options for Roberto De Zerbi.

Recent reports have claimed that Gakpo is open to joining Spurs if an offer arrives, even though he signed a new long-term contract at Anfield last year. However, so far, there has been little progress on the club-to-club talks front, with the Reds keen on strengthening Andoni Iraola's options in the market, rather than weakening them.

With the final week of the market arriving, Liverpool is trying to progress on some potential incomings, which gives Tottenham some hope of landing Gakpo.

However, Manchester City has also seemingly joined the race, with the former Premier League champions keen on adding some league experience to the team, following a large swathe of players leaving over the summer window so far.

While both teams are keen on landing the Netherlands international, there will be a late battle for his signature because of Liverpool's own business in the market.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Reds will only entertain a possible exit for Gakpo if at least two wingers make their way to Anfield in the final week of the transfer window, with work underway to bring in a few possible options.

It's claimed that while Tottenham has agreed personal terms with the player's camp, Man City is now working to do the same and remains in contact with his agents over a deal.

For now, Liverpool will be focusing on incomings, with Bradley Barcola outlined as a priority target in the final week, as reports claim a "final bid" is now on the way from the Reds to PSG for the winger.

The Merseyside outfit has also had two bids rejected for Brighton star Yankuba Minteh, with the winger viewed as an ideal option for the right flank, but it's unclear whether a third bid will be lodged in the coming days.

It sets up a tense wait for Gakpo, who impressed in the opening match of the Premier League season against Newcastle, where he picked up a goal with a strike from the edge of the box.

It remains to be seen what his future holds, with three potential outcomes on the table: A move to Tottenham, a move to Manchester City, or a stay at Liverpool.
