Arsenal midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has been named Gary Neville’s standout summer signing after the pundit explained how his £75million arrival reduces Mikel Arteta’s reliance on Declan Rice.
Guimaraes joined from Newcastle United earlier this month and immediately added another experienced option to Arsenal’s midfield.
However, Neville believes the Brazilian’s importance extends beyond simply strengthening the champions’ squad.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, he identified Guimaraes as the summer signing most likely to influence the Premier League title race.
He’s the best signing by a mile, Neville said, according toSky Sports.

Bruno Guimaraes strengthens Arsenal’s midfield depth
Neville argued that Arsenal possess strong alternatives across most positions but previously lacked comparable cover for Rice.
The England international has become central to Arteta’s midfield, combining defensive protection with the ability to carry possession into advanced areas.
He added that Guimaraes effectively “removes that risk” by giving Arsenal another experienced midfielder capable of controlling matches.
Arsenal confirmed Guimaraes’ arrival from Newcastle on a long-term contract, with Sky Sports reporting the transfer was worth £75million.
His ability to operate in several midfield roles should also give Arteta greater flexibility during Arsenal’s Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
Neville had already backed Arsenal to retain their Premier League title ahead of Liverpool and Manchester City.
