The new season is up and running for Liverpool under Andoni Iraola, and the summer transfer window is not yet finished at Anfield.
The Reds opened their Premier League campaign with a 2-2 draw at Newcastle United on Sunday, twice coming from behind before Dominik Szoboszlai converted a stoppage-time penalty to snatch a point.

It is the first season since 2016-17 without Mohamed Salah and the first since 2020-21 without Ibrahima Konate, with Andy Robertson also gone after his contract expired this summer.
Iraola used his first matchday squad to hand a debut to new defender Jeremy Jacquet, while fellow summer arrivals Ronald Araujo and Víctor Munoz were named among the substitutes.
The transfer window closes on September 1, and Liverpool are expected to continue shaping the squad before then.
While Anfield’s incomings have dominated the headlines, another transfer story involving the club is developing away from Merseyside.
According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, writing for Marca, Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic is almost certain to join Celta Vigo, the club where he developed.
Bajcetic, 21, joined Liverpool’s academy from Celta in December 2020 after coming through the Galician club’s youth ranks.
He has struggled for game time at Anfield in recent years, managing just 55 appearances in five seasons across Liverpool, RB Salzburg and Las Palmas due to a series of injuries.
The midfielder spent 2024-25 on loan at Salzburg before moving to Las Palmas in January 2025. He then underwent surgery on a hamstring problem, and reports from Spain describe him as being in the final stages of his recovery.
Celta are reported to have begun working on a deal that would see Bajcetic begin with their reserve side, Fortuna, before progressing to Claudio Giraldez’s first team as he builds up his fitness.
Getafe and Sevilla have also been linked with the player, and some reports suggest Getafe currently hold an advantage in negotiations, which conflicts with claims that Celta’s move is now well advanced.
Bajcetic’s contract at Liverpool runs until June 2027.
A return to Vigo would end his time at the club that signed him as a 16-year-old and take him back to where his career in professional football began.
