The Golden State Warriors have reportedly agreed to a deal with one of their main offseason targets.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Warriors will sign a one-year, $2.6 million deal with Brandon Williams.
Golden State had shown legitimate interest in Williams earlier in August, per NBA insider Marc Stein.
The guard will provide depth to the Warriors' backcourt, which hasn't seen much improvement from last year.
Williams coming off career year with Mavericks
Williams will provide Golden State with another ball-handler after producing the best season of his NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks.
The 26-year-old guard averaged 13.0 points, 3.9 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 22.2 minutes over 66 appearances during the 2025-26 season. He shot 47.2% from the field and also recorded 0.9 steals per game.
Williams had spent the previous three seasons with Dallas after beginning his NBA career with the Portland Trail Blazers. His role increased significantly last season after averaging only 8.3 points and 2.3 assists in 2024-25.
