Chelsea are interested in signing Fulham midfielder Sander Berge following the Blues’ 3-2 win over their West London rivals, although are clearly targeting the wrong player from last night’s opposition.
Xabi Alonso’s side relied on the brilliance of their front three to win their opening Premier League game, with Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer all scoring.
There was a noticeable gap in the Blues’ midfield though, with both Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez not starting, and Sander Berge has cropped up as a possible option late in the transfer window.

When taking into account the 3-2 game at Craven Cottage, Fulham’s standout player was not Berge, however it was Josh King, who doubled his Premier League tally with a goal last night.
As well as the goal, King had another two efforts at goal, whilst also creating a chance for a teammate as Fulham looked to get back on level terms.

The teenager was keen to get on the ball and influence play, even if he had to win it back himself. King made four recoveries and won three ground duels during the game.
Playing in the number 10 role, King would fit into the Chelsea setup perfectly as a rotation option behind both Rogers and Palmer, who both impressed greatly last night.

Despite now finally signing players who can make an instant impact on the first team squad, there is still a desire to add the next batch of young talents to the club.
At just 19 years of age, King fits into this, however will also come with a season of Premier League football already under his belt.
Chelsea would of course rather keep hold of Fernandez rather than look to sign a replacement like Berge, however they are braced for a late bid from Man City for his services.
The Argentine has made it clear this summer he wants to leave, however has continued to train and even feature for the Blues in the early stages of this season.
