Bradley Barcola could land his dream shirt number at Liverpool if he joins the club this summer, while a whole host of other high-profile squad numbers remain available.
It comes as the Reds continue to push for a deal to sign the French winger from Paris Saint-Germain, with a summer-long pursuit of the 23-year-old set to reach a climax over the final week of the transfer window.
There are club-to-club negotiations ongoing for Barcola to move to Anfield, with the gap in valuation seemingly being narrowed in recent weeks. There is now hope that an agreement can be reached for the winger to be the latest high-profile attacking signing, who could help unlock the rest of the forward line while implementing the style that Andoni Iraola is trying to play.
There will be some details to sort before then, including the finalization of personal terms and a medical, but then come some of the interesting parts for the Liverpool fans.
That includes the possible shirt numbers that Barcola could wear in his time at the club, with plenty of stars before him making the numbers iconic for their own different reasons.
For the potential summer arrival, there is one clear option for him to pick: 29.
It has been the number of choice for the winger in his time at PSG so far, which he could make his own with a switch to Liverpool.
The Reds haven't had a number 29 since Arthur Melo's loan move to the club back in 2022/23. There are very few interesting names associated with that choice, with the likes of Dominic Solanke, Fabio Borini, and Brad Friedel taking it before him.

Another possible high-profile option for the winger could be the number 11, which was vacated by Mohamed Salah after his exit earlier this summer.
The 'Egyptian King' picked the number in 2017 and wore it through some of the best years of his career, while other legends such as Robbie Fowler, Graeme Souness, and Ian Callaghan opted for it.
Barcola could opt for something slightly different, with other options being free within the squad, should he decide to go for a new look.
It remains to be seen which option he will go for, but it could be an opportunity for Barcola to make himself synonymous with some of the most famous shirts in the club's history.
There is still work to be done before that decision can be made, but it certainly looks as though it is a choice the winger will have to make soon, based on the transfer's current direction.
Available shirt numbers at Liverpool: 11, 13, 16, 17, 24, 26, 27, 29, 31, 32, 34-37, 39-41, 44-55, 57-72, 74-94, 96-99.
