Stefan Bajcetic ‘in Finland for injury tests’ ahead of transfer – Latest Liverpool FC News

Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic is currently undergoing medical tests abroad, as he looks to prove his fitness to potential suitors.

Bajcetic in finland for medical tests

According to journalist Diego Ortero, Bajcetic is in Finland for tests with Dr Lasse Lempainen, who operated on his hamstring last year.

The Spaniard is “waiting to be given medical clearance this week,” before pushing for a move away from Liverpool.

As of yet, This Is Anfield understands no formal interest has arrived for Bajcetic, but a return to former club Celta Vigo has been mooted.

It has been such a tough three years for the midfielder since he burst onto the scene at Liverpool in 2022/23, proving to be a bright spark in an otherwise grim season.

Since the end of that campaign, Bajcetic has made only three Reds appearances, with injuries continually dogging him.

Sadly, it is hard to see the 21-year-old resurrecting his Liverpool career, and with his current deal expiring next summer, a move away now may be best.

More from This Is Anfield

As part of This Is Anfield‘s season preview, we spoke to a Chelsea and Man United fan to get their thoughts on the new campaign, with confidence among Blues supporters not too high:

“I think Alonso is a brilliant manager, but the team still has very clear issues in the defence and keeper.

“Bringing in the likes of Welbeck and Henderson isn’t going to have any impact at all on the pitch, and we have lost Cucurella (and probably Enzo).

“We are really going to feel the loss of those players, and it is hard to see a title challenge at this point.”

On this day in 2000, Liverpool completed the signing of Christian Ziege, bringing him in from Middlesbrough for £5.5 million.

The German left-back was seen as an excellent signing, but he underwhelmed for the Reds, with injuries and patchy form limiting him to 32 appearances.

Still, Ziege played his part in Liverpool’s cup treble win in 2000/01, before moving to Spurs after one season at Anfield.

They must be sick of the sight of Liverpool late on in games!
