Leeds United’s Premier League rivals and second round Carabao Cup hosts Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal to sign striker Liam Delap from Chelsea for a club record fee.
Leeds face Forest at the City Ground for the second time in four days on Tuesday evening as the two sides lock horns in the second round of the Carabao Cup, four days on from Saturday’s Premier League opener.
Forest have been on the hunt for a new striker and the Telegraph’s John Percy has broke the news that the Reds have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Delap for a club record fee of circa £45m.
He reports that a medical is expected in the next 24 hours.
Reports emerged last week that Leeds were interested in Delap but the YEP understands those reports were wide of the mark and that the 23-year-old was not a player United were looking at.
