With the season already underway, sides across Europe are desperate to make some last-minute additions and replacements.
One of those teams is Newcastle United, who have lost several of their best players this season and are yet to replace many of them.

One of the biggest sagas of the summer has been the situation surrounding Julian Alvarez and a potential move to Arsenal.
Manchester United are also desperate to strengthen their squad after being convincingly beaten by Hull City at the weekend. Liverpool are also looking to bring in two or three new signings before the window closes on September 1.
Meanwhile, Reading have officially confirmed the signing of former Liverpool defender Conor Masterson. The 27-year-old has signed a short-term contract until January after impressing during a period of training with the squad.
Masterson, who is a former Liverpool youngster, has made more than 200 senior appearances across the Football League.
He has previously played for Cambridge United, Queens Park Rangers and Swindon Town, but is best known for his time at Gillingham. Masterson made over 100 appearances for the Gills and won the club’s Player of the Season award in 2023/24.
He left Liverpool in 2019 after seven years with the club. The Republic of Ireland youth international joined the Reds from Dublin-based Lucan United in 2012 before entering the Kirkby Academy full-time two years later.
He was named as an unused substitute on three occasions but never made a first-team appearance. Manager Leam Richardson said: “Conor initially came in to train with us, help us with numbers and keep himself fit. He’s been excellent since he walked through the door.
“His attitude, his professionalism and the level he’s shown every day in training have really impressed us and over that period the situation has developed. He’s earned this opportunity.
“He’s got a lot of experience and he’s a very good character to have around the group. We’re pleased that we’ve been able to get something agreed with him through to January and he gives us another strong option defensively.”
We are delighted to announce the signing of Conor Masterson on a short-term deal until January 2027.
Welcome to Reading, Conor. 💙
