The saying goes, you wait ages for a bus, and then two come along at once. Well, for Chelsea, it looks as if three buses are set to arrive, and they come in the form of three big piles of cash.
This week, Chelsea finally confirmed a sixth player sale this summer. Omari Kellyman’s £5m move to Strasbourg has taken the total income from player sales to around £160m, even if his sale is a big loss.
Kellyman’s departure is Chelsea’s first player sale since Trevoh Chalobah joined Como. Marc Cucurella, Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and Jimmy-Jay Morgan have also been sold by Chelsea this summer.
Of course, the Blues have cashed in on Alejandro Garnacho but must wait for his obligation to become active. Then, there was the compensation for Enzo Maresca. But three more sales are now expected soon.
Nicolas Jackson and Liam Delap set to earn Chelsea a huge £115m
It first emerged that Aston Villa are set to spend £65m to form a reunion between Unai Emery and striker Nicolas Jackson. It comes after Villa agreed a fee with Al Hilal for England striker Ollie Watkins.

The Telegraph reports that a £65m fee will change hands, a brilliant deal for Chelsea given the Blues paid less than half to sign the Senegal star from Emery’s old side, Villarreal. He cost just £32m back in 2023.
Then, it was widely reported and confirmed by Oliver Glasner that Nottingham Forest are doing a deal for Liam Delap. It is believed Forest will pay a club record £45m up front, plus £5m more in add-ons.
Enzo Fernandez exit could eclipse £120m as City prepare bid
While the sales of Delap and Jackson look set to go through, City have been preparing a bid for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea had set City a deadline earlier this month to make a £120m bid.

On Tuesday night, it emerged that Fernandez had agreed a move to Man City and that Enzo Maresca’s side were preparing a big offer to get the deal done. It is believed it could exceed his price tag.
According to Gaston Edul, Chelsea may now receive a bigger fee for Fernandez – between £130m and £140m for the World Cup winner. But how much will Chelsea have received if they sell for £120m?

Madrid paid £51.8m for Cucurella, while Man United sent Chelsea £50m for Santos. Everton have agreed to a £24m deal for George; £4m was received for Morgan, and £30m came in for the exit of Chalobah.

Then, another £5m for Kellyman – a total of £164.8m. If Chelsea get £115m for Delap and Jackson and another £120m for Fernandez, it will see them rake in another £235m from the sales of three players.
That would take their total from player sales to a whopping £399.8m. Given Chelsea have spent little over £350m on 11 new players this summer, it seems BlueCo have done it again – profit has been secured.
Anything more than the initial £120m price tag slapped on Fernandez’s head, and Chelsea will surpass the £400m mark for player sales this summer. With more to go, there is a real chance they reach half a billion.
