With the Blues preparing for tomorrow evening's UEFA Champions League qualifying round first leg against Real Sociedad – which can be viewed live on the Chelsea Official App and website – neither Sonia Bompastor nor her players attended the event.
Yet that did not stop the performances of a trio of our players last season from being recognised by their fellow professionals.
Hannah Hampton secured the goalkeeper spot in the Team of the Year, having kept eight clean sheets in 18 league appearances during the previous campaign.
Fellow Blue and England international Lauren James was also handed a place in the side, having been voted by fans as our Player of the Season last year.
Our No.10 scored several sublime goals last term, netting five times in 14 domestic games, and also went past the 100-appearance marker in blue.

The third and final place in the WSL Team of the Year for a Chelsea player was Ellie Carpenter, who impressed throughout her maiden campaign in the English game. The Australian international made 19 appearances in the top flight last term, scoring twice and providing two assists.
Several Blues received nominations for awards prior to Tuesday's ceremony. James was shortlisted for the PFA WSL Player of the Year honour, which went to Manchester City's Bunny Shaw, while Veerle Buurman and Alyssa Thompson were up for the PFA WSL Young Player of the Year.
