After losing their Premier League opener at Hull City, Manchester United have a few days left to do some ;last-minute transfer business. Their 2-0 reverse at MKM Stadium may leave them wondering if their business so far - headlined by deals for Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos - is enough,

Movement has been made in the pursuit of Carlos Baleba, with the Cameroonian announced on Tuesday. Baleba was left out by the Seagulls for their league opener against Aston Villa and has signed for United until the summer of 2031.

Michael Carrick will want a reaction from his United players as they face another newly promoted side, Ipswich Town, next time out. The manager may be able to welcome back more players after injury but there will no doubt also be some work going on behind the scenes.

We could also see further exits, with speculation continuing to surround the future of Marcus Rashford. Here are our latest talking points from around Old Trafford.

Chelsea weighing up Rashford move

Chelsea are still considering a late move for Marcus Rashford, according to The Independent. Any move would rely on them first completing a number of sales, though, with Aston Villa target Nicolas Jackson among those linked with an exit.

It wouldn't be the first time the London side have raided United for a wide forward. Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho both spent time at Stamford Bridge of late, though Sancho's loan didn't bring a permanent move, and Garnacho has now headed out on loan himself after a permanent move to West London.

Rashford has spent the last season and a half out on loan but returned to Old Trafford in pre-season. His second-half run-out at Hull was his first competitive appearance for his parent club since December 2024.

Manchester United will need to pay around £38.5million if they want to sign Alejandro Balde from Barcelona, according to The Athletic. A loan deal could also be an option if all parties can be convinced.

The left-back was left out of Barca's squad for their weekend clash with Elche. “I spoke with Balde this morning and told him that I think he’s not here at 100 per cent, clear your mind and then we’ll talk,” manager Hansi Flick said.

Balde is one of a number of left-backs mentioned in connection with a United switch, along with Racing Santander's Jorge Salinas. However, a move for Newcastle star Lewis Hall appears to be off the table for the time being.
