The summer transfer window now has just five days left, with Liverpool running out of time to get a deal done for some of the side's key targets before the market comes to a halt.

The Reds have completed three deals so far, landing Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz, and Ronald Araujo, but Andoni Iraola's team is far from a finished product. There is the potential for incomings, with wingers being a top priority, while there may be some exits on the cards before the window slams shut at the start of next month.

So, with that said, here's a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumors ahead of another important day of action.

Bradley Barcola (PSG)

Liverpool's long-awaited move for Bradley Barcola may finally be coming to a close, as TeamTalk reports that the Reds are on the cusp of a breakthrough in talks to sign the winger from Paris Saint-Germain.

It's claimed that the French side has once again lowered the valuation set on the 23-year-old, with confidence increasing among those working on the deal that a transfer will be confirmed.

The report states that PSG is now willing to accept $163 million for Barcola, with the fee now having been reduced three times by the European champions over the course of club-to-club negotiations.

Liverpool.com says: Liverpool fans will be glad once this deal is done, with the summer-long pursuit of Barcola clearly taking up a lot of the club's focus and energy in the market.

The strategy has clearly worked, however, with the reduction in his valuation showing that the Reds have been able to drive a hard bargain for the winger, though skeptics may claim that PSG never expected the initial valuations to be met anyway.

Should a deal finally be completed, Liverpool will simply hope that the investment is worth it, adding yet another expensive signing to a frontline that hasn't quite been firing as of yet.

Matias Fernandez-Pardo (Lille)

Liverpool has been linked with a move for Lille and Belgium star Matias Fernandez-Pardo in recent weeks as a potential alternative to some of the transfer targets who have been rumored for the wide areas.

The Reds have yet to make an approach for the 21-year-old, which leaves him open to a move from elsewhere, as Sacha Tavolieri claims that Premier League rival Newcastle has made an offer to Lille for the winger.

It's claimed to be in the region of $70 million, with it set to be the final offer that the Magpies make.

Liverpool.com says: Fernandez-Pardo was always likely to be a backup option for Liverpool, though he has shown plenty of promise in his time with Lille so far.

It could prove to be a missed opportunity if he does join Newcastle and excels, but the lack of firm activity from the Reds in his direction suggests that it was simply interest and nothing more this summer.
