Top journalist says third Liverpool bid for Premier League star is imminent

**David Lynch reports that it’s highly likely that Liverpool will submit a third bid for Brighton star Yankuba Minteh this week, which will be alongside their existing efforts to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG.**

Supporter concerns over the state of Liverpool’s transfers this summer are valid.

It was always obvious that Liverpool were going to make new signings in attack, but aside from a deal for Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo, no new ground has been broken.

The arrival of Jeremy Jacquet was arranged in January and before the club knew that Ibrahima Konate was heading to Real Madrid on a free transfer, but it does feel like Liverpool are ignoring some major issues.

A new right back was a priority before the summer began – as was a new midfielder, and yet the Reds have not signed either, nor do reports suggest any movement will happen in the last few days of the window.

Lynch actually argues Liverpool should be less worried about signing Minteh and more worried about midfield, telling [Anfield Index](https://anfieldindex.com/98695/lewis-steele-liverpool-expected-to-push-for-premier-league-star-a-deal-is-there-to-be-done.html): _“I think I would probably sack that off for now and sign a DM instead.”_

Lynch continued: _“Yeah, I think so,” he said when asked whether a third bid should be expected. “I think the case will be they’ll try that third bid and if Brighton don’t accept that, then they’ll probably have to pivot to other targets, whoever they may be._

_“It does sound like a deal is there to be done and it’s an agreement that’s there to be easy to be reached_

_“They know that Liverpool have been absolutely desperate all summer for a winger. So, if you’re Brighton, you’re not going to accept anything less than the £70m you asked for, probably._

_Steele added: “It does appear that Liverpool have been weighing up whether to make a bid and wouldn’t be surprised at all if they put that in the next day or so._

_“Minteh can’t play for two months or so anyway, so it’s not like it’s going to suddenly fix everything.”_
