Liverpool finally got underway with the new Premier League season last weekend, with a 2-2 draw at Newcastle where Andoni Iraola's side was far from at its best.
The Reds battled back from behind twice to earn a point at St. James' Park, where Dominik Szoboszlai's late penalty proved crucial in getting the campaign up and running.
But it showed how much work there is for Iraola to do, though not all of the pressure will be on his shoulders at this stage, with the recruitment team needing to give the manager more options for the rest of the campaign.
With just over one week remaining in the summer transfer window, there is an opportunity to back the manager, with some potentially huge deals ahead for the side.
Links with wingers have persisted, with Bradley Barcola continually spoken about as an option on the left, while Liverpool has bid twice for Yankuba Minteh on the right, with no luck so far in getting Brighton to agree a move.
