The New York Giants are ushering in a brand-new era, and young quarterback Jaxson Dart is already buying into the leadership at the top.
As the Giants navigate training camp and prepare for the upcoming campaign, Dart opened up about what has impressed him most regarding new head coach John Harbaugh. While Harbaugh brings a proven championship track record and intense detail to East Rutherford, the young signal-caller pointed to something much more personal as his standout trait.
“The biggest thing that stands out with him is his relationships with his players,” Dart said when reflecting on Harbaugh's impact on the locker room.

That player-first dynamic has already paid off during on-field adversity this preseason. In the Giants' 13-10 preseason clash against the Minnesota Vikings, Dart got a firsthand taste of Harbaugh’s protective leadership. After taking a brutal unblocked hit from blitzing safety Jay Ward that sent the quarterback to the medical tent to be evaluated, Harbaugh did not mince words postgame.
While Dart cleared evaluation and quickly returned to bounce back in style, completing 3 of 4 passes for 26 yards, capped off by a 15-yard touchdown strike to rookie wide receiver Malachi Fields, Harbaugh immediately focused on protecting his young passer.
“We just keep playing football, and we'll just try to do a better job of protecting him,” Harbaugh said firmly. “And there's no way he should have been hit there.”
That unwavering backing speaks volumes to a developing quarterback. For a franchise aiming to build a winning culture, Harbaugh's mix of high accountability and genuine connection is already establishing a strong foundation with Dart leading the charge under center.
