Chelsea could make another move for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott before the transfer window closes, but he will not come cheap.
Chelsea have already had one bid for Scott rejected, but their interest in the 23-year-old remains.
The Blues are likely to enter the market if Enzo Fernandez joins Manchester City, and Scott remains their top target to potentially replace the Argentine.

Chelsea may have to pay close to £90m to sign Alex Scott
Right now, as it has been throughout the whole window so far, Bournemouth’s stance is that Scott is not for sale.
However, according to The Independent, there is a belief that an offer between £80m and £90m could be enough to soften Bournemouth’s position.
It is a lot of money, but it is no surprise to hear that the Cherries would only consider selling their midfielder for such a fee.
Because of other activity in this market, Bournemouth could easily demand £100m for Scott, but whether the English youngster is worth anything close to that is highly debatable to say the least.

Alex Scott isn’t a £90m midfielder
Scott is a good midfield player with a lot of potential. But when you look at his game, I am still not quite sure what his standout attribute is.
That is not out of the ordinary for a young footballer still developing. But for £90m, you would expect to know what you are getting.
Simply put, Scott has not shown anything to prove that he is a £90m midfielder. He does not score goals like Fernandez, for example, nor does he make as many tackles or interceptions as someone such as Moises Caicedo.
The problem for Chelsea, though, is the fact that Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson have gone for £100m and £116m respectively this summer, while Mateus Fernandes cost £85m.
Bournemouth will feel that Scott is worth just as much as the trio, especially Fernandes, who was relegated with West Ham United last season. All of these fees are ridiculous, but a £90m or £100m bid is probably what Chelsea are going to have to submit to land Scott’s signature.
