Chelsea message sent after Blues OFFICIALLY announce wingers move!

Reading have completed the permanent signing of promising teenager Jeremiah Berkeley-Agyepong, who leaves Chelsea after developing through the club’s academy system from Under-8 level.

The young winger brings an end to a lengthy association with Chelsea, having spent several years progressing through the ranks at Cobham and representing the Blues at a number of age groups.

Berkeley-Agyepong was part of the Chelsea Under-15 side that enjoyed success in the Premier League Floodlit Cup, adding a notable team honour to his development during his time in the academy. His performances and progression saw him continue to move through the club’s youth structure, with the winger gaining further experience in the Under-18 environment.

During pre-season ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, Berkeley-Agyepong featured for Chelsea’s Under-18 side as he continued his development against older opposition. The experience marked another step in his journey through the academy, where he had been given the opportunity to test himself at an increasingly competitive level.

However, the next stage of his career will now take place away from west London, with Reading securing his services on a permanent basis.

The move to Berkshire offers Berkeley-Agyepong the opportunity to continue his development in a new environment and begin the next chapter of his career. Having spent the majority of his footballing education at CHELSEA, the teenager departs with experience of one of the country’s most established academy systems.

Chelsea have regularly seen academy players move elsewhere in search of new opportunities, with young footballers often taking different paths as they look to make the transition from academy football into the senior game.

For Berkeley-Agyepong, the switch to Reading represents a fresh challenge and a chance to establish himself within a new setup. The winger will hope that the experience gained during his years at Chelsea, including his involvement with the Under-15 and Under-18 squads, will provide a strong foundation for the next phase of his development.

CHELSEA, meanwhile, have wished Berkeley-Agyepong well following his departure, thanking the youngster for his contribution during his time with the club and extending their best wishes for the future.

As he begins a new chapter at Reading, Berkeley-Agyepong will look to build on the progress he made throughout his years in Chelsea’s academy and take the next important steps in his career.
