Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso will have been delighted with some aspects of his team’s performance against Fulham on Monday night, but less so with others.
The Blues looked rampant going forward, but there were vulnerabilities in defence, which were also seen in pre-season.
A 3-2 scoreline probably doesn’t quite reflect how Alonso’s men played, as they were well worthy of the three points, and it is definitely a display to build upon.
