Young forward Igor Tyjon has issued a now-deleted farewell message to Blackburn Rovers ahead of joining Arsenal. The Gunners have been linked with a move for the 18-year-old throughout 2026 but now finally look set to sign him in a deal that is said to be an initial £1million, with a further £2m available in potential add-ons.
The teenager has made his senior debut for Blackburn but has opted against signing professional terms. He has played 69 first-team minutes across three appearances with most of his action coming in the Premier League 2 as he has scored 10 goals and grabbed two assists from a total of 20 games.
Tyjon is yet to feature in any capacity this season as his switch to Arsenal is being finalised and his goodbye post on social media, suggests it is on the verge of going through having undergone a medical last week.

In an Instagram post, which was later deleted on Tuesday, he said: "I would like to thank (Blackburn) Rovers for the last 3 years. Thank you to all my teammates and staff throughout the years. I’ve made friendships for life and memories I won’t forget. Lots of ups and downs and learning on the way.
“The last couple of months have been tough due to certain people and reasons I can’t say but I will never forget the good times at this club [blue heart emoji]."

The latter part of his message implies criticism at individuals within the club after several approaches from Arsenal were turned down. Tyjon is expected to start in Arsenal's under-21s but could feature for the senior team in some capacity later this season.
His imminent arrival is further proof that Arsenal are once again focusing on strengthening their youth academy after some stars opted to head elsewhere due to feeling as though their pathway into the first-team was blocked.
