The Chelsea Chronicle have picked out three players who are under pressure to save their career at Stamford Bridge during the EFL Cup tie against Luton Town.

Xabi Alonso is expected to heavily rotate his side after starting their Premier League campaign against Fulham just three days before this fixture.

Chelsea picked up all three points against Fulham with a 3-2 win, where all three attackers were on the scoresheet, making a statement that they will produce a devastating trio this season.

This has piled the pressure on the other options at the club, and The Chelsea Chronicle have named three players who are in need of showing the manager they have a place in the side for this season.

Jamie Gittens

After a strong start to pre-season, Jamie Gittens was an unused substitute for their first Premier League game of the campaign.

Morgan Rogers has shown he is going to be the first-choice in the left-sided attacking position this season, and with no European football opportunities are going to be slim for anyone else to earn minutes.

Chelsea may well be considering the sale of Gittens as a result of this, and he needs to take the chance we are predicting he will get against Luton tomorrow.

Pedro Neto

Pedro Neto came off the bench aganist Fulham, although got himself caught up in an intense row with club captain Reece James for refusing to track back.

The Portugal international has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the latter stages of the transfer window, with a move to the Saudi Pro League on the cards.

Neto looks as if he will play as a wing-back if he remains in West London, and it remains to be seen whether he adjusts suitably to that position.

Nicolas Jackson

Nicolas Jackson has so far found himself out of the plans under Alonso, however with Danny Welbeck’s fitness a doubt, the Senegal star could feature against Luton Town.

While this would predominantly be to protect Joao Pedro, it could send a message to the boss that he still has a part to play at Stamford Bridge.

He would need to make this impact instantly though, considering he is being strongly linked with a move away from the club this week.
