Nico O'Reilly named PFA Young Player of the Year
Academy graduate rewarded for outstanding campaign
Nico O'Reilly has been named as the PFA Young Player of the Year, following an outstanding 2025/26 season.
The 21-year-old helped the Blues to a domestic cup double, before representing England at the World Cup.
“I’m hugely honoured and proud to have won this award,” said O’Reilly.
“To be recognised by your fellow professionals is a great feeling.
“The Premier League has so many outstanding young players so to be honoured this way means such a lot both to me and my family.
“I would like to thank everyone who voted for me as well as all my teammates and the City coaching staff for their incredible help and support.
“Without them this wouldn’t have been possible.
“I’m also so grateful both to my family for their love and support - and to the City fans who have been unbelievable with me ever since I first played for the Club.
“To win this award really does mean a lot.”
Director of Football Hugo Viana added: “We are all immensely proud of Nico and thrilled to see him receive such a special award.
“He is not only a hugely talented young football but also someone who embodies all the values we cherish at Manchester City.
“Nico is hard working, diligent, always wanting to get even better and someone for who puts this Club before anything else. He is a brilliant pro.
“For him to be recognised this way by his professional colleagues illustrates how highly regarded he is by his peers.
“Nico is also a huge inspiration and example to the rest of our Academy about what is possible through talent, hard work and dedication.
“This award serves as another magnificent achievement.”
