Chelsea are considering a move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez after the Argentina international was offered to the club by his representatives.
David Ornstein reports that Chelsea are assessing the possibility of signing Martinez before the transfer window closes.
The 33-year-old is open to leaving Villa after Zion Suzuki was installed as Unai Emery’s new first-choice goalkeeper.

Emi Martinez gives Chelsea major goalkeeper decision
Martinez had been in discussions over a move to Juventus earlier this month, but the Italian club decided not to complete the transfer.
He has since trained away from Villa’s first team while his representatives search for another opportunity.
talkSPORT understands that Martinez could be available for £8.6million. That price would make the experienced goalkeeper an affordable late-window option for Chelsea.
Robert Sánchez started Monday’s 3-2 victory over Fulham but contributed to both goals conceded.
The Spaniard was beaten at his near post before spilling Timothy Castagne’s shot into Gonzalo García’s path. Those mistakes left Xabi Alonso with an immediate goalkeeper decision.
Mike Penders was named on the bench at Craven Cottage and could receive an opportunity against Luton Town on Thursday.
Signing Martinez would significantly change that hierarchy. The former Arsenal goalkeeper has made 256 appearances for Villa and helped Emery’s side win the Europa League last season.
Chelsea have not submitted an offer and no agreement has been reached with Villa or Martinez.
However, the club’s decision to consider the proposal represents genuine movement after previously indicating they were satisfied with Sánchez and Penders.
