Emi Martinez has been offered to Chelsea in the final few days of the transfer window, with club legend John Terry already putting his opinions about the goalkeeper on record.
Chelsea fans have been calling out for the club to sign a new goalkeeper after watching Robert Sanchez during the Premier League opener against Fulham.
The Spaniard made two errors leading to goals in the game, and Blues fans voted for Martinez as for who they would like to see come in to replace him.

Now, Aston Villa have given Chelsea the chance to bring in the experienced Argentinian, with the Blues said to be considering the signing.
One man who knows Martinez better than most is John Terry. The Chelsea legend worked with him as a coach at Villa Park.

When talking about the goalkeeper to beIN Sports in 2022, Terry was full of praise for him, describing his mentality as ‘incredible’.
He said: “He could have sat there at Arsenal, like number two’s do. But he has proved to be a top, top keeper and his mentality is incredible.

“As soon as it goes to penalties [2022 World Cup final], then I know for a fact all of that team know he is going to save one or two penalties.”
It has been claimed that there would be no issues between Chelsea and Martinez in terms of agreeing personal terms, even with the Blues out of European football for this season.

Enzo Fernandez is also a huge fan of Martinez, from their time reaching two World Cup finals together with Argentina.
It remains to be seen if the signing of the shot-stopper could be the catalyst which convinces the Chelsea midfielder to remain at the club for at least another season.
The Blues are braced for a huge bid from Manchester City for his services, and at this late stage of the transfer window it would prove very difficult to replace him.
They will therefore be desperate to keep hold of Fernandez, and if the addition of Martinez does anything to help that then it only becomes a better signing.
