Chelsea have officially confirmed Axel Disasi has joined Crystal Palace on loan for the 2026/27 season, finally resolving the defender’s immediate future after weeks of transfer talks.
The 28-year-old has moved across London after falling outside Xabi Alonso’s first-team plans at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea confirmed Disasi’s season-long Palace loan on Wednesday, bringing a lengthy summer saga to an end.

Chelsea complete Axel Disasi Crystal Palace loan
Disasi joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2023 and made more than 60 appearances for the Blues.
He has spent much of the past 18 months away from Stamford Bridge, first joining Aston Villa before spending the second half of last season on loan at West Ham.
Palace have now become his latest Premier League destination.
Reuters also confirmed the completion of the deal on Wednesday, with Disasi moving to Selhurst Park for the full campaign.
The move completes a deal ReadChelsea reported had been verbally agreed last week.
That agreement was for a paid loan rather than the permanent exit Chelsea had initially been seeking.
Disasi exit continues Chelsea defensive clear-out
Chelsea had previously valued Disasi at around £25million and explored a permanent move earlier in the window.
ReadChelsea reported that West Ham had initially reached an agreement in principle to sign the defender, before Disasi opted to consider other opportunities.
Palace eventually emerged as the preferred destination.
The transfer also continues Alonso’s attempt to reduce an overcrowded defensive group.
ReadChelsea previously analysed Chelsea’s plan to cut their 10-man centre-back group almost in half, with Benoit Badiashile having already joined Napoli on loan.
Disasi’s departure gives Chelsea another solution before the window closes, although his long-term future will still need to be addressed next summer.
