The Premier League season is officially underway and several teams made massive statements in their opening fixtures

The Premier League is back and the opening weekend threw up some surprises, with Manchester United losing on the road to Hull City and Leeds United picking up all three points at Nottingham Forest. So, which sides have the best fixtures over the next four gameweeks and which fantasy assets should we be stocking our squads with?
5th Place: Manchester City
Manchester City battled back against Bournemouth to secure three points in their opening home game under Enzo Maresca. A trip to Old Trafford in Gameweek 4 is their only tricky upcoming fixture, with Crystal Palace, promoted Coventry City and Sunderland also in their immediate schedule.

Erling Haaland (£15.5m) is predicted to be the top-performing player in FPL across the next four gameweeks, according to Fantasy Football Hub's AI points predictions. He's the most owned player in the game, in 68.3% of teams, and the top captain pick for both Gameweek 3 and Gameweek 5.
Defenders Marc Guehi (£6.0m) and Josko Gvardiol (£5.5m) were their top performers against the Cherries, with a goal apiece. Nico O'Reilly (£6.5m) is a tempting alternative, though, having started that game out of position in the number 10 role, although his 63rd-minute substitution may deter investment.
4th Place: Liverpool
Liverpool battled back twice against Newcastle to earn themselves a valuable point at St. James' Park, with Cody Gakpo (£7.0m) their star man. He was top among all players in Gameweek 1 for shots, with 6, getting his goal and also netting the two-point defensive contribution bonus.
It's Dominik Szoboszlai (£7.0m) who is capturing the attention of fantasy managers, though, with 150,000 transfers in taking his ownership above 40%. He scored the emphatic winner from the penalty spot, putting him above Alexander Isak (£9.0m) in the pecking order. He also took six corners and five free kicks, showing his dominance across set pieces.

Liverpool now entertain Nottingham Forest, who are yet to score this season, which could spell clean sheet potential for Virgil Van Dijk (£6.5m). It's then a trip to promoted Ipswich Town, before facing Fulham and Bournemouth ahead of the international break.
3rd Place: Leeds United
Leeds United have begun the campaign in great form, beating OliverGlasner's Nottingham Forest side 1-0 on the road on the opening weekend. They then backed that result up with a 2-0 win at the City Ground in midweek, the only all-Premier League clash in the League Cup second Round.

They have three home games in their next four against Brentford, Newcastle and Glasner's former club, Crystal Palace. Harry Wilson (£6.5m) is taking a share of set-pieces along with Anton Stach (£6.0m), who got himself on the scoresheet and netted defensive contribution points. His routes to points give him the edge over striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6.0m).
There are plenty of good defensive options in this Leeds United side, with their backline strengthened in the summer transfer window with the arrival of goalkeeper James Trafford and centre-back Tarik Muharemovic (£5.0m). It's Jaka Bijol (£5.0m) who looks to be the most intriguing pick, though, hitting the two-point defensive contribution bonus last time out.
2nd Place: Spurs
Spurs didn't have the start to the campaign they desired, losing 3-0 on the road to Brentford. However, it's expected that their form will improve in the coming gameweeks, with three home games in their next four against Newcastle United, Everton and Aston Villa. It's an important run for Roberto De Zerbi's side heading into the international break.
New signing Marcos Senesi (£6.0m) demonstrated he could be as dominant on defensive contribution points in this Spurs side as he was last campaign for Bournemouth, with a tally of 16, ranking him third of all defenders in Gameweek 1. However, the Manchester City defenders are more appealing premiums, while team-mate Van Hecke (£5.0m) is cheaper.

Spurs look to be strengthening their attack, with Savinho (£6.5m) among the new signings in the transfer window, which remains open until Tuesday, September 1. I think it's still a wait-and-see on their attackers, though, given they've yet to find the back of the net in this campaign.
1st Place: Newcastle United
Newcastle United top the Fantasy Football Hub's fixture analyser as the side with the best fixtures for the next four gameweeks of the season. It's Spurs up next, before taking on Bournemouth, Leeds United and Hull City. Many wrote them off for the start of this campaign, with their performance against Liverpool last weekend eye-opening.

Yoanne Wissa (£6.0m) managed just 517 minutes last season but made an immediate impact in this game, with an assist for the Magpies second goal. He looked to cause significant problems on the counter-attack, and had two big chances on goal. He could threaten Calvert-Lewin to dominate the cheap striker category.
There's plenty of options to consider from Newcastle United's defence, who are all capable of netting defensive contribution points. Malick Thiaw (£5.0m), Lewis Hall (£5.0m), and Sven Botman (£5.0m) all gained the two-point bonus against Liverpool. They are all differentials too, with Botman the pick of the bunch right now, sitting in just 0.2% of teams.
