In recent weeks, Liverpool have really stepped up their pursuit of attacking reinforcements.
Progress is being made to bring Bradley Barcola to Anfield in what could be one of the biggest transfers in the club’s history.
On the other hand, Liverpool have had bids rejected for Yankuba Minteh, with Brighton driving a hard bargain.
Earlier today, various sources confirmed the Reds’ interest in Ismaila Sarr.
And now, Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage has opened up on the Senegalese international’s future.
Liverpool target Ismaila Sarr expected to stay
Sage confirmed that Sarr will not feature against Manchester City on Friday as he is injured.
The Palace boss also added that fans and pundits will naturally say his absence is transfer-driven despite that not being the case.
“I understand for everybody that you have this kind of contact, it’s difficult because you hesitate a lot, but, for the moment he’s with us.
“He is under contract, as I told you. He’s injured and, maybe you can make a link between his injury and the situation, but for me, he’s honest, and I have no problem with that.
Sources say that only an astronomical bid would change Palace’s stance and, with other targets still in mind, Liverpool are unlikely to budge.

“I spoke with him this morning about that, yesterday about that too, and we just want him on the pitch.”
At this stage of the transfer window, we can’t see Palace selling a key player like Sarr unless Liverpool – or any of his other suitors – make an absolutely outrageous offer.
