Recently, the Chicago Bears unveiled their new “rivalries” uniforms for the upcoming season, which they will be wearing at times along with seven other NFC teams. The news comes with just over two weeks to go until the Bears kick off a 2026 season filled with high expectations after last year's success under head coach Ben Johnson.
Johnson has never been known to care much about trivial things, and recently, he broke down his simple reaction to the team's new uniforms.
“#Bears marketing department should be thrilled with Ben Johnson. He was asked about club's rivalry uniforms that were unveiled this AM. He didn't know about them. ‘What uniforms?' Johnson asked. The franchise has a coach singularly focused on football. That's what matters,” reported Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune on X, formerly Twitter.
Clearly, Johnson isn't paying much attention to the wardrobe department ahead of the new season.

Instead, the head coach will be looking to help the team build off the success of last year, with plenty of doubt afoot as to whether or not last year's success is a repeatable formula. In 2025, the Bears relied heavily on late-game magic and comebacks, much in the way the Washington Commanders did the prior season before falling off a cliff last year.
However, if quarterback Caleb Williams can take another step forward in his development, and Johnson can continue to find new ways to unlock Chicago's offense, there's no reason why the Bears can't vault themselves into legit contender status in the NFC heading into this season and beyond.
The Bears are slated to kick off their new season on September 13 with a road game vs the Carolina Panthers.
