Liverpool FC officially announce 2026/27 third kit release date

Andoni Iraola will take charge of his first competitive home match as Liverpool head coach when his side face Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday.

The Basque coach had to settle for a draw on the opening weekend, with Liverpool grateful for a point after Dominik Szoboszlai converted a 99th-minute penalty at Newcastle United.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, suffered a late defeat to Leeds United at the City Ground, with Anton Stach scoring the winner.

Liverpool have already debuted their new 2026/27 home kit against Newcastle, while the away strip was worn during pre-season.

The Reds’ new adidas third kit will be released at 9am BST on Thursday. A club statement read: “Liverpool FC’s new 2026-27 adidas third kit will be released at 9am BST on Thursday (August 27).

“The final strip for the new campaign will be available to order immediately once it has been officially unveiled across club channels. Supporters will be able to purchase the kit from our official online store, the LFC Store app and in club stores.

Liverpool’s new adidas home kit for the 2026/27 season was released on May 19, drawing inspiration from the club’s iconic 1989-91 home shirt.

The deep red design features a modernised geometric pattern, with white detailing on the adidas logo, club crest and trims. The original shirt was worn during a successful period that included Liverpool’s 1989/90 league title triumph under Kenny Dalglish.

The 2026/27 away kit was unveiled in July and takes inspiration from Liverpool’s mid-1980s away shirts. It features a white base with red and grey detailing, while the adidas Trefoil and heritage Liver bird crest add to the retro aesthetic.

The shirt also includes a subtle pattern inspired by historic Anfield match tickets, paying tribute to generations of Liverpool supporters.
