Nathan Peterman spent the better part of a decade as an NFL journeyman quarterback, and for a few months, he lived as a sports agent. On Wednesday, ACC Network announced the former Pitt Panthers signal-caller is joining the network as a college football studio analyst for the 2026 season.
Peterman split his college career between Tennessee and Pittsburgh before the Buffalo Bills selected him in the fifth round of the 2017 draft, a class that also produced Mitchell Trubisky, Patrick Mahomes, and Deshaun Watson. Jon Gruden, ever the talent evaluator, famously declared him the most pro-ready quarterback of the bunch. The professional ranks proved far less charitable. Peterman started just four games and appeared in eight across two turbulent seasons in Buffalo, bounced through subsequent stops with the Raiders and Bears, and made brief cameos with the Saints and Falcons before retiring this summer after a tryout with the Broncos failed to materialize into a contract.
Peterman signed on with Range Sports, the agency that had represented him throughout his playing career, working under longtime NFLPA agent Kyle Strongin out of Jacksonville, and set his sights on earning certification to represent players himself.
“I got to live through what I’m now getting tested on in the CBA,” Peterman said at the time. “Being up and down on a roster, being put on IR, negotiating contracts. I hope I can help a younger person that’s on a similar journey.”
Peterman will make his television debut on Aug. 29, contributing Saturdays throughout the fall from the network’s Bristol studio, with appearances on ACC Huddle Scoreboard and Final Score alongside Kelsey Riggs-Cuff, Bryce Love, and Mark Richt.
Former North Carolina wide receiver J.J. Jones will also make select appearances throughout the season and debuts Thursday, Sept. 3.
ACC Network promoted Max Browne to top analyst alongside Wes Durham, replacing Steve Addazio, who shifts into an expanded studio role. Addazio will now co-host ACC Huddle Final Score alongside Riggs Cuff and Love during the conference’s expanded Friday night slate. Madison Fitzpatrick, meanwhile, takes over as sideline reporter for Dana Boyle, who moves to ESPN’s Friday night primetime package alongside Mike Monaco and Jordan Rodgers.
