Cardinals WR Michael Wilson made no secret of his feelings toward Packers CB Keisean Nixon after another heated practice exchange.
[Arizona Cardinals](/nfl/arizona-cardinals) wide receiver Michael Wilson has never really seemed like the type of player who craves the spotlight. He generally keeps a low profile, choosing to stay out of the social-media frenzy that surrounds professional athletes.
For that reason, Wilson's apparent feud with Green Bay Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon is all the more interesting. The two players seemingly don't see eye to eye, and their dislike for one another appears to go beyond the usual on-field competition.
That was really hard to miss during Wednesday's joint practice at Ray Nitschke Field. After Wilson made a first-down catch, Nixon held on while finishing what amounted to a practice tackle. The two exchanged words, leading to players from the sidelines to move toward the confrontation. The session featured several other scrums and extended exchanges between the Cardinals and Packers.
When asked about his relationship with Nixon, Wilson didn't hold back.
“Me and him got a little bit of beef going back to my second year in the league. Every time I see him – I'm not going to say it's smoke – but not too fond of him and I don't think he's too fond of me. That apparent history traces back to Arizona's 34-13 loss to Green Bay at Lambeau Field in Week 6 of the 2024 season. Wilson caught two passes for 21 yards and a touchdown, while Nixon recorded three tackles and a pass breakup.
The latest confrontation comes as both players enter important stages of their careers. Wilson is heading into his fourth NFL season after producing the best campaign of his career in 2025, when he logged 78 receptions for 1,006 yards and seven touchdowns. He is expected to have an expanded role under new head coach Mike LaFleur.
Nixon, meanwhile, finished with 72 tackles, 17 passes defensed and one interception this past season. The veteran has developed from an All-Pro return specialist into a regular defensive contributor since joining the Packers in 2022 and is competing to retain his starting position.
The Cardinals and Packers will meet again Friday at Lambeau Field in the preseason finale.
