Houston Texans pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. has established himself as one of the best in the NFL. This offseason, he sought an “iron sharpens iron” moment, so to speak. He trained with Los Angeles Rams star Myles Garrett ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
Anderson spoke about that training session earlier in training camp. Now, recent footage emerged showing an interesting interaction between the two. Garrett commented that the Texans star has some time before he can catch him. However, Anderson warned Garrett that he's closer to snatching the crown than the Rams star may think.
“It was about this close this year. And I didn’t even hit my prime yet! That’s the scary thing about it MG! I was right behind you this year. And I didn’t even hit my prime yet!” Anderson said in a clip shared by Houston Stressans on social media.
In terms of impact, there are certainly similarities. Both pass rushers led one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Texans made the playoffs in 2025 thanks to their defense. Garrett's former team, the Cleveland Browns, was not so lucky.
However, when it comes to taking down the quarterback, there is a significant gap. Anderson turned in a good season, recording 12 sacks. Garrett, meanwhile, broke the single-season sack record with 23 in 2025.
Houston certainly hopes Anderson can become a player similar to Garrett. Their defense is already tough to beat, boasting a fearsome pass rush. If Anderson can somehow replicate Garrett's production, this Texans defense would be a nightmare to face for years to come.
