Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Cole Palmer suffered no ill effects despite an injury scare during the 3-2 win over Fulham on Monday night.
The 24-year-old pulled up with what looked like a muscular issue midway through the second half at Craven Cottage.
Palmer was able to play on, and Alonso only decided to take him off in injury time, with Estevao coming on in his place for the final few minutes.
The England international is still unlikely to start against Luton Town in the Carabao Cup, but he is available for selection, along with Emmanuel Emegha and Aaron Anselmino, who have been pictured in training in the build-up to the match.
Expected Return Date – Thursday 27th August vs Luton (h)
Moises Caicedo
The Ecuadorian international missed the Fulham match with a minor knock, and Alonso says that he is hoping to have him back for Sunday’s game against Brighton:
“Let’s hope Moi can make it for the weekend.”
Caicedo did take part in pre-season, but it appears that he sustained an issue in training just prior to the game on Monday.
Alonso remarks confirm that the midfielder won’t be in the matchday squad for the Carabao Cup tie against Luton either.
Expected Return Date – Sunday 30th August vs Brighton (h)
