Jack Grealish in action for Manchester City
Jack Grealish has already decided which club he wants to join before the summer transfer window shuts, if he is to leave Manchester City, GIVEMESPORT understands.
There has been plenty of interest in the former England international, who fell down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium in the latter stages of Pep Guardiola's time at the club.
With a new manager now in place - Enzo Maresca taking over after Guardiola decided to step down at the end of last season - Grealish's place in the City team moving forward was unknown. He has, however, played a role in pre-season, reintegrated into the squad following his season-long loan at Everton in 2025/26, and came off the substitutes' bench to play eight minutes of the Citizens' first Premier League match of the season against Bournemouth on Sunday, following a 45-minute shift in the Community Shield against Arsenal.
Those were his first Premier League minutes for City since a one-minute cameo, coincidentally also against the Cherries, in May 2025.
Grealish grabbed two goals and six assists in an Everton shirt last season, from 20 appearances, averaging a goal involvement every 204 minutes for the Toffees. He ended the season with a foot injury, keeping him out of action from the end of January onwards.
His future has been the subject of much speculation during the summer transfer window, with Everton joined by Sunderland in making a move to sign the now 30-year-old forward.
Jack Grealish 2025/26 stats:
Appearances 22 (all comps)
Minutes played 1,723
Goals 2
Assists 6
Games missed through injury 17
Man City all-time appearances 159
Man City all-time goals 17
Man City all-time assists 23
Everton remain interested in bringing the wide man back to the Hill Dickinson Stadium before the summer transfer window closes, but Sunderland also made a late approach to sign him on loan this summer.
Grealish is now in the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and City would more than likely prefer a permanent sale, rather than a loan, if they are to sanction a deal.
However, Maresca may think twice about letting him go, after Savio completed a switch to Tottenham this week, with Omar Marmoush looking set to follow suit. With Jeremy Doku injured, the Italian has few options in wide areas, although City are set to complete a deal to sign Allan from Palmeiras.
If Grealish does move on, GMS understands that he would prefer to return to Everton, over a move to Sunderland. Senior football correspondent Ben Jacobs said: "Jack Grealish has decided he wants to join Everton if he leaves Manchester City. Grealish also has interest from former club Aston Villa."
