Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has addressed the club’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola as the Reds continue negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential summer transfer.
Liverpool have been looking to add another attacking option for much of the window, with Barcola emerging as a long-standing target.

Their interest in the PSG winger grew after their move for Yan Diomande failed to progress, making the Frenchman a priority.
With the transfer window entering its final stages, Liverpool must also focus on their Premier League campaign.
The Reds will welcome Nottingham Forest this weekend after opening the season with a 2-2 draw at Newcastle United, where Dominik Szoboszlai’s stoppage-time penalty secured a point.
Forest head into the fixture after a 1-0 home defeat to Leeds United last weekend. They were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup by the same opponents, adding further pressure ahead of their trip to Anfield.
Liverpool won 1-0 at the City Ground in February, although Forest had already claimed a 3-0 victory at Anfield earlier in the season.
Iraola was asked about the latest reports linking Liverpool with an agreement in principle for Barcola during his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
The Spaniard refused to discuss the PSG winger directly but confirmed that Liverpool are still looking to strengthen their attacking options.
“We cannot talk about players who are not ours, but we are trying to fill that position as we don’t have the numbers. I hope to have good news soon, but we are not there yet.”
Barcola has reportedly agreed personal terms with Liverpool and is now waiting for the clubs to give the green light for the transfer to be formalised.
His preference for a move to Anfield, coupled with limited serious competition from other clubs, has strengthened Liverpool’s position during negotiations.
The financial figures also highlight the potential profit PSG could make from the deal. The French champions paid €45m to sign Bradley Barcola from Lyon in 2023 and could now sell him for more than £100m.
With the transfer window closing on September 1, Liverpool and PSG are expected to work towards finalising the agreement in the coming days.
