Reiss Nelson and Arsenal have mutually agreed to terminate his contract and the English winger will now explore opportunities to sign for a new club as a free agent.
The 26-year-old's future has been in doubt throughout the summer after an unsuccessful loan spell at Brentford last season. He has been on the outskirts of Mikel Arteta's first team, and Christos Tzolis' arrival only further pushed him down the pecking order.
West Ham United reportedly held talks over a deal for Nelson earlier this summer. The Hammers were looking to sign him on loan rather than buy him ahead of his contract expiring next year.

David Ornstein of The Athletic has confirmed that Nelson and Arsenal have agreed to terminate his contract, and he is set to leave as a free agent. There is interest in the winger from clubs in England and abroad as he prepares to leave his boyhood club in search of more first-team opportunities.
Nelson managed just one goal and two assists in 14 games during his loan at Brentford, failing to earn a regular starting role in Keith Andrews' side. This came after another loan spell with Fulham during 2024-25, which was disrupted by injury issues.
Arsenal have decided to let the Englishman move on as a free agent rather than trying to get a fee for their academy product. This could work to West Ham's advantage should the EFL Championship outfit still intend to take him to the London Stadium.
