The Green Bay Packers are adding a veteran weapon to their tight end room, signing Jonnu Smith to a one year deal as the team gets ready for the 2026 season.
Smith brings plenty of NFL experience and another athletic option to Matt LaFleur’s offense. Known for his ability to create after the catch, Smith has been used throughout his career as both a traditional tight end and a movable chess piece who can line up across the formation.
The signing gives Green Bay some added insurance at a position that has dealt with injuries throughout the offseason, most notably with Tucker Kraft working his way back from a torn ACL and Luke Musgrave on the shelf for the entire summer.
With the regular season approaching, Smith gives LaFleur another experienced option and provides the Packers with some much-needed depth and flexibility at tight end.
