Manchester City have been drawn against PSG (H), Barcelona (A), Sporting (H), Porto (A), Napoli (H), RB Leipzig (A), AEK Athens (H) and Lens (A) in the league phase of the 2026/27 Champions League.
This season will be the first in a decade without Pep Guardiola at the City helm. Guardiola departed the Etihad Stadium at the end of last season after guiding the Blues through the most decorated period in their history, including a Champions League triumph in 2023.
His replacement, Enzo Maresca, was also there in Istanbul. He was one of Guardiola's assistants that season and has taken the reins this year hoping to emulate that success.
City struggled in the Champions League last season. The Blues started well, winning three of their opening four matches in the league phase, including an impressive 4-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund. However, a rotated City side lost 2-0 at home to Bayer Leverkusen, knocking them off course.
They bounced back with a 2-1 win at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid but followed that up with a shock 3-1 defeat to Bodo/Glimt in Norway. A 2-0 victory against Galatasaray on the final day secured them a spot in the all-important top eight, and an automatic place in the round of 16.
Sadly for the Blues, that is where their journey came to an end. Against familiar foe Real, City lost 3-0 in the Spanish capital before losing 2-1 at the Etihad to exit the competition at the first knockout stage.
City will discover the exact dates of their Champions League fixtures no later than Saturday, August 29, with the matchday schedule as follows:
