Sky Sports reveal how many more signings Liverpool could make after Bradley Barcola

via Reuters

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on the signing of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, and they could yet add two more players to their ranks after this move, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Merseysiders have been mulling over a deal for Barcola for several months now, but finally reached a breakthrough in negotiations on Thursday morning. PSG have seemingly lowered their excessive asking price, which was believed to have been set at around £140 million, allowing Liverpool to offer a fee they felt more comfortable with.

The prospective deal is said to have been reached at around £120 million, with £100 million guaranteed and the rest in add-ons.

Despite this significant outlay, Liverpool aren't expected to be finished there. They still plan to add up to two more stars to their squad before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

Even with the arrival of Barcola, Liverpool are still light on options in their attack. The Reds brought Lewis Koumas onto the pitch against Newcastle at the weekend, highlighting their lack of depth in forward areas.

Meanwhile, Andoni Iraola's defence is still in need of additional depth pieces, and their midfield arguably requires an elite ball-winner to complement the existing options.

Fortunately for Liverpool supporters, it appears the club recognise these needs and are eager to address at least a couple of them before the window slams shut. Sky Sports reporter Plettenberg revealed on X on Thursday that they want to sign one or possibly two players before the deadline.

Alex Scott is their primary target in midfield, and it's believed they could yet move for the Bournemouth man. However, the Cherries' £90 million valuation and competition from Chelsea make a prospective deal for the Englishman difficult.

Meanwhile, the Merseyside outfit have reportedly submitted a £50 million bid for Ismaila Sarr. The Senegalese forward enjoyed an exceptional season for Crystal Palace last year, and is viewed as an alternative to Brighton's Yankuba Minteh.
