According to PremierInjuries, there are a number of absentees that add to the juggling act the manager will be hoping to pull off. Moises Caicedo and Marco Palestra were two standouts of pre-season but both suffered injuries that sidelined them for Fulham and they’ll miss out here as well. Wesley Fofana is also a miss as he’s serving the second match of a suspension carried over from last term.

Lesser known is young striker Emmanuel Emegha who joined this summer from Strasbourg, he didn’t featured at all in pre-season as he suffered an injury before the tour started. Jordan Henderson is another new signing who hasn’t played a minute for the Blues. The former Brentford man was signed on a free despite breaking his arm on England duty, he is mostly brought in to bring his veteran leadership to the young squad.
