Matthias Jaissle has urged Newcastle United fans to back the team rather than focus on Sandro Tonali this weekend.

Jaissle believes the occasion could add extra motivation for his players in North London. He told reporters: “I was aware that he was a player here, a really important player, who left the club. Again, Tottenham did not only (sign) him as a huge signing, but also a couple of other players.
“So that's what I meant with facing a huge challenge on Saturday. It's always nice when you face also old teammates, so there should be at least a special motivation. It worked, I think, against Isak already, so hopefully it will work also on Saturday.”

Matthias Jaissle answers prickly question
The Gazette followed up by asking if Jaissle would encourage Jaissle to give Tonali the Isak treatment. As mentioned, a wry smile and a laugh was followed by a diplomatic response.
“I would love that we have many, many supporters in London supporting us,” Jaissle added. “That's the most important thing. Focusing on our lads, bringing that energy on the pitch, or at least the players try to bring the transfer on the pitch. This is the most important thing because that was also the reason why we played a fantastic game against Liverpool and also yesterday in the cup.”
