UCL draw: Osimhen gets Barcelona, PSG as Lookman's Atletico faces Bayern, Liverpool and Man Utd
Super Eagles stars Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Zaidu Sanusi and Igoh Ogbu have discovered their opponents for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase following Thursday’s draw in Monaco.
Osimhen will lead Galatasaray into another Champions League campaign after the Turkish champions were placed in the league phase.
The Nigerian striker and his teammates will face Barcelona, Aston Villa, Feyenoord, Stuttgart, PSG, Sporting CP, Lille and AEK Athens.
Lookman and Atletico Madrid have been handed a difficult schedule.
They will face Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United among their eight opponents, alongside PSV Eindhoven, Fenerbahce, Bodo/Glimt, Viking and Stuttgart.
Sanusi, meanwhile, will continue his Champions League campaign with Porto.
The Portuguese side will face Manchester City at home and Liverpool away, while their other opponents are PSV Eindhoven, Real Betis, Napoli, Feyenoord, Slavia Prague and LASK.
Igoh Ogbu's Slavia Prague will face Arsenal, Aston Villa, Villarreal and Lens at home, while their away matches will be against Bayern Munich, Porto, Fenerbahce and Sabah.
The Champions League has retained its league-phase format, with each of the 36 participating clubs facing eight different opponents. Every team will play four matches at home and four away.
The league phase will begin between September 8 and 10, with the final matchday scheduled for January 27, 2027.
The top eight teams will advance directly to the round of 16, while teams finishing from ninth to 24th will enter the knockout phase play-offs.
The draw has provided Osimhen, Lookman, Sanusi and Ogbu with another opportunity to compete against some of the leading clubs in European football.
