Josh Jacobs Sees Video Of Assault Described By Police To The Public

According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team:

Packers RB Josh Jacobs has formally been charged with two misdemeanors stemming from his May arrest.

Jacobs was originally booked on five charges, including felony strangulation, but now faces reduced charges of misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property.

Surveillance video from Packers RB Josh Jacobs’ garage confirmed the relevant portions of the woman’s account of the altercation. She told police Jacobs grabbed her as she tried to leave, threw her to the ground, and she struck her head.

The video specifically shows her on the garage floor, Jacobs taking her phone, and then returning about 40 seconds later and appearing to damage it.

If convicted, Jacobs faces up to 18 months in prison.

Eighteen months in jail? He’s got “skin privilege” and that’ll never happen. Disorderly conduct, maybe.

He’s done and Green Bay should be done with him as well

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (8) is shown during organized team activities Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Packers have released a perfunctory statement so far.

“We are aware of the charges brought against Josh Jacobs,” the team said. “We will continue to cooperate with the NFL as we work through the process. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Jacobs’s lawyers also have issued a statement, which omits the typical insistence that their client is innocent: “The Brown County District Attorney has reviewed evidence and elected to file misdemeanor charges against Josh that do not include domestic violence. The allegations will be addressed in court, and not in the media. Mr. Jacobs respects the District Attorney’s office and the process it followed.”
