The Pittsburgh Steelers lead the Buffalo Bills 14-10 at halftime of the teams’ preseason finale.
Will Howard played the entire first half and threw two touchdown passes, including one to rookie WR Germie Bernard. It wasn’t a complete bounce-back from last week’s disaster with another interception and a few bad sacks, but the offense at least put points on the board. His full stat line: 9 completions, 15 attempts, 69 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 3 sacks. Overall, it was below average.
First-round offensive tackle Max Iheanachor made his NFL debut midway through the second quarter. It wasn’t pretty, but he’ll likely have a chance throughout the rest of the game to get in a rhythm. One of Howard’s sacks was a direct result of Iheanachor’s blown block.

START OF 2ND HALF
Eli Heidenreich returned the kickoff to the 32. 1st and 10, Heidenreich up the middle for 4 yards. 2nd and 6, Heidenreich off left tackle for 1 yards. 3rd and 5, Drew Allar threaded one in to Kaden Wetjen in tight coverage to convert.
1st and 10, Allar complete to Jaheim Bell for 2 yards. 2nd and 8, Heidenreich off left tackle for 7 yards. 3rd and 1, Heidenreich up the middle for 4 yards.
1st and 10, Kaleb Johnson up the middle for 5 yards. 2nd and 5, complete to Max Hurleman for 25 yards.
1st and 10, Heidenreich up the middle for 4 yards. 2nd and 6, Allar incomplete to Jakobie Keeney-James. 3rd and 6, Iheanachor paved the way for Heidenreich to score. 21-10 Steelers.
1st and 10, Shane Buechele up the middle for 5 yards with Jack Sawyer making the tackle. 2nd and 5, Gore up the middle for 4. Carson Bruener made the stop. 3rd and 1, complete to Ben VanSumeren for 2 yards.
1st and 10, complete to Gore for 24 yards up the right sideline with Bruener and Doneiko Slaughter ultimately making the stop.
